Cholesterol Laden Foods No comments yet

There are many foods that you need to be aware of that are laden with cholesterol. It is important that you are aware of the many types of foods for the sake of your family’s health.

A List of Cholesterol Laden Foods

Interesting enough, a sheep or beef brain is on the top of the list for the most cholesterol in foods. Makes you wanna run out and buy a couple, eh? Well, rest assured I won’t be anytime soon!! That is for sure.

Next on the list is fish oil. While there are many good attributes for it, there are also precautions that you must know about. Fish oil has a lot of cholesterol.

Chicken liver anyone? - Well, coming in as number three on the list is tasty chicken liver. I think that I will pass on this one as well. I am sure that many of us will.

Raw eggs (especially the yolk) - I am sure that there are many people out there who love the incredible edible egg, right? Yeah, I do but it doesn’t like us so we need to eat them in moderation.

Beef bi-products - Liver or tongues anyone? Nah, I didn’t think so. There are many people who like to fry up a batch now and again. If the grease isn’t bad enough, then eat some bi-products to add more to your already high cholesterol.

Canned crustaceans? - Uhm you mean as in shrimp and fish? I don’t think so. There are many that you think in your mind are very good for you. So since they are ‘good’ for you, you decide to go ahead and fry them; making them better? I sincerely doubt it. They are still high in cholesterol.

Fast foods - Well, this is definitely a no-brainer (to say the least). Uhm, maybe or maybe not, who knows. Maybe you didn’t know that those morning biscuits and sausage were loaded with all the fattening grease? Perhaps you don’t think about it while driving down the road on your way to work? Who knows, but now you do.

Pork anyone? - Did you know that pork is high in fat and cholesterol already. They are some of the nastiest animals and eat just about anything. They are full of cholesterol and sadly enough, many people fry them in grease.

There are many types of food that are loaded with cholesterol. We can choose to be knowledgeable in what we do or we can continue feeding our bodies junk. The choice is yours!

RNs Can Advance Their Career No comments yet

Many RNs go into management, but usually they first have to hold a BSN (bachelors of science degree in nursing). Since many nurses start their career by completing an associates degree in nursing or a diploma program many end up choosing from several rn to bsn programs to help advance their career.

When an average person thinks about nursing careers they may think about a registered nurse in a hospital assisting a patient or the nurse they see on a regular doctors visits. But that is not all registered nurses can do in their career.

Today it is very common for RNs who hold an associates degree to return to school to earn an advanced degree in order to advance their career. Once they have completed that degree they may have a better chance of entering the management side of nursing.

Besides management RNs have other career choices beside the traditional registered nursing career. Many decide to enter the world of legal nursing.

Legal nursing consulting is a popular career choice for many RNs who may want to be more independent and have their own clients. They generally use their medical knowledge and learn the legal side of things to bridge the gap in legal/medical cases.

Another career field that may be considered somewhat popular among RNs is that of a case manager. Case management positions are in demand so it is somewhat common to hear about people going back to school in order to get trained to become a case manager.

Tips For Gaining Muscle No comments yet

Nowadays, more and more people are inclined to build their muscles, and this is down to media exposure on health and fitness. Nevertheless, gaining ones musclesis not as easy as the infomercials for the various fitness products and supplements would have us believe. In fact, building ones muscles does not happen overnight, however they claim it. It takes a certain amount of time before ones muscles become built, toned, and clearly noticeable.

Big mistake number one that a lot of people do when they are trying to build muscle is imitate what they have seen others do that they think has made them big. The truth is that most of the participants there do not train naturally and are simply genetically gifted. Copying their routines will not guarantee you resullts, and may in fact cause you to injure yourself. What you need is an entirely different approach, one that can help you build your muscles not necessarily fast but effectively. Your approach must also keep overtraining at bay; if you go crazy and do too much you can give yourself injuries, such as ripping  the muscle tissues, straining of the ligaments, dislocation of the joints, and even the breaking of the bones.

In that cas, how should you proceed in your training? The first thing you should include in your muscle building routines is exercises for gaining strength. Muscle comes from being strong, want bigger muscles then you need more strength. Weight train ing is great for this as it allows you to progressively increase the wight you lift. Start with an empty bar and research on the proper techniques. With every workout session, add weight to push your body out of its comfort zone.

Now although there are lots of machines available, try and use free weights too. Most proper fitness experts will point you in the direction of free weights rather than machines for better training. Machines incline to force you into irregular patterns that are inclined to injuries, whereas free weights promote normal movements. Machines balance the weight, whereas free weights allow you to control and balance the weight on your own. Finally, reliable machines are can be very expensive, whereas the best free weights are relatively cheap. Barbells are great for lifting the heaviest weights. More weight gives off more stress, which then produces more muscle. Dumbbells, on the other hand, are great for assistance exercises, but they should never be relied on for the main lifts.

These simple yet tried and tested tips can help you build your muscles the right way with regular and proper performance. For more muscle gainin routines, visit your local gym and refer with a fitness professional, and always consult with a physician bfore starting any fitness regime.
